A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Dynamics Programmer to work with an award winning company.
Required to work on a variety of current and next gen games contracts from arcade / cartoon style to simulation racer. Requirements * Experience in a programming language such as C/C++/Pascal etc. (Ideally experience in object oriented programming) * Strong Maths knowledge with a good understanding of numerical stability. * An understanding of all major components of a road and race car. * A good understanding of Tyres and Suspension and simulating both. * Should be capable of taking experience from all areas above, and write a 3d car simulation in their chosen language. * Be able to modify suspension settings (e.g. Spring, Damper & Roll-bar Settings), and know how this will affect the handling of a car. Candidate will be responsible for.. * Maintenance and Extending features of current C++ Vehicle Simulation. (Body, Tyre, Suspension, Engine, Gearbox, Clutch, Differential & Aerodynamic Models etc.) * Support for reading and interpretation of various input devices (such as steering wheels and standard controllers) * Low Level AI for rival opponents in game (calculation of ideal steering, throttle and brake inputs for a vehicle under AI control). * Maintenance of Vehicle Editor and Database * Extending Debugging Features and Data Capture * Set-Up of Road/Race Cars specific to game requirements * Modifying Vehicle Simulation and Vehicle Editor to automatically set-up or calibrate any possible/necessary database parameters.
