My client is one of the largest independent developers in Europe and has been developing cutting edge games for over 12 years.

Outline of Duties • Structuring and implementing the core of a next-gen (Xbox 360 and PS3) game, including developing both offline and online game modes, designing specific scenarios and challenges and overseeing the construction of the user interface. • Develop both single player and multiplayer game modes (online and offline) from existing game design document. • Research and create scenarios, challenges and special rule sets. • Take responsibility for the user interface, working closely with the UI artist and the UI code team to produce a UI that is simple, intuitive and eye-catching. This will involve both managing the UI flow and logic and actually creating the UI using the Unreal UI Editor. • Helping to tweak and balance the game in general, as part of the design team. Playing the game a lot! Skills • A Levels: Prefer English Language or Literature A Level or equivalent. • Previous games experience: at least two shipped titles as game designer, preferably on console. • Be able to work to deadlines • Ability to work alone and manage own time Essential • Love of games, particularly online multiplayer (not MMORPG) console gaming. • Good communicator • Strong interpersonal skills • Willingness to learn • Methodical and precise approach: must implement complex UI. • Strong organizational skills • Happy to 'get hands dirty' with data.
