My client is an independent multi-platform video game developer based in Northern Ireland. Their aim is to become recognised as a development house delivering high quality, original, funs games.
They are currently releasing a PC only title this year, and plan to release a cross-platform title the following year, with Xbox360 and PS3 platform development currently progressing on schedule. Responsibilities Conceptualising surface patterns/detail for characters, vehicles, weaponry, graphical layouts and working through from thumbnail to realistic high quality finished texture maps for delivery to level designers. Applying a consistent "look and feel" to all map textures and world object maps within context based principal. Working closely with the Producer, Lead Artist and Content team. Estimating and maintaining timescales and deliverables. Ensuring timely delivery and quality of work assigned on schedule. Requirements Excellent drawing/painting and observation skills and a knowledge of anatomy, perspective, composition, framing, layout, colour, balance and composition, rendering and surface detail. Ability to deliver thumbnails and ideas quickly before finishing approved concepts to a high standard. Ability to work on own initiative. Strong communication skills and comfortable with taking direction/constructive criticism. Desirable Experience working in a creative production environment. Minimum of 2 published and well received game titles on PC or console or published concept work for broadcast media or movies. 3rd level qualification in a related discipline is desirable but not essential. Experience in photography. Digital photography is preferred.
