Our client is looking for a new Lead Designer to join their growing team. The Lead Designer is responsible for driving the creative vision of a game and communicating it to internal and external parties. He/she is responsible for the creation of clear and concise design documentation and ensuring its accuracy and relevance throughout development. He/She is responsible for maintaining the highest design standards as well as managing other designers across projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
•Drive the creative vision of a game from early inception to its final retail form.
•Discuss implementation and risks with specialised individuals regardless of discipline.
•Work closely and effectively with other Leads and Producers.
•Create, manage and update GDD and relevant design materials.
•Create game-play test plans for internal and external test-groups.
•Manage game-tuning and ensure games are made to the highest possible standards.
•Work efficiently across multiple project tasks.
•Provide leadership and mentoring for junior designers.
•Friendly, approachable and collaborative.
•Excellent verbal communication skills.
•Working knowledge of hardware limitations for current/next-generation consoles.
•Multi-tasking Strong work ethic.
•Proven creative and technical writing skills.
•Ability to write clear and concise documentation.
•Ability to design functional user interfaces.
•Ability to recognise and address game-play issues and risks.
•Expert knowledge of games across a wide variety of genres (past, present and future).
•Sound problem-solving skills with a positive outlook.
•Ability to identify problems early and plan ahead.
EDUCATION/RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
•Tertiary Education (preferred but not essential)
•3-4 years Design Experience with design credits on multiple titles across multiple platforms
